 County Mayo

Mayo is one of Ireland’s best kept secrets. Its magnificent scenery ranges from the beautiful coastline of the north and west, to spectacular and varied lake and mountain landscapes. Castlebar, Mayo’s county town, has grown significantly in recent years and boasts a wide range of shops and other facilities. Ballina is also a thriving commercial centre, and Westport is one of the West’s premier tourist destinations.  Click to view original image

Mayo has a strong industrial base comprising both successful home grown enterprises and some of Ireland’s most significant multinational companies.  Knock International Airport has expanded rapidly in the past few years and is serving an ever-growing range of destinations to the UK, Europe and beyond. The Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, named 2004 Institute of Technology of the Year, has a campus in Castlebar.
